Millia is the best employee that arrived with the GG collab and for a long time was considered beyond overpowered in PVP. Her damage was so high, she could melt Awakened Na Yubin in a couple of seconds.

Recently she received a pretty big nerf to her special that slashed its damage in half in the Gauntlet which proved to be enough for her to lose the beyond broken status. Now she's merely another great employee that shines when she isn't banned, but there are better alternatives otherwise.

Pros

- damage, tons of damage,

- really hard to kill - when she's in danger, she just jumps back and becomes damage immune,

- gets tons of free Skill Haste from her passive,

- easy to gear because she's a soldier, so you can give her all the useless maze pieces you obtained.

Cons

- none, she's that broken.

May is a frontline supporter with a unique anti-hitstun mechanic that allows her to buff herself and her allies. At first, she looked underwhelming, but KR players already found uses for her both in PVP and PVE but keep in mind she's not a plug-and-play character.

Pros

Sol is a defender whose kit is focused on debuffing enemies and healing himself, but his stats make him a bruiser rather than a tank. Because of that, he is quite squishy compared to Serapel and Lee Yumi.

He is both below average in PVP and PVE, which is quite worrisome considering that he was a paid battle pass employee during the GG collab.

Pros

Cons

I-NO is the first hybrid employee who is both a Mech and Counter which means she gets the benefits of both Mech and Counter-only supports. Both her damage and survivability are quite good and compared to other snipers she's not that easy to kill.

Still, her high cost and the problem with how to use her makes her not that popular choice either in PVE or PVP.

Be aware that while she is a hybrid employee, she can only wear Mech gear.

Ram is a striker that focuses on doing damage and nothing else. While this makes her good in PVE where you need to beat the timer, she's too squishy and her range is too low for her to work in PVP.

Her biggest issue is the lack of anything to help the team. Even if her damage is pretty good, you can easily find other strikers that do comparable damage but also bring debuffs/buffs/cc.

Lucid summons two CO - one air, one ground - and focuses on buffing them. Her biggest downside is her cost and stats - she's really squishy and a stray car can kill her. Still, the CO she summons hit like a truck with their 11k and 7k ATK. Especially the flying CO is annoying as he stays in the back close to Lucid while bombarding enemies.

Sadly, she's just too squishy to be used in PVP. You can easily Kang her and you've just basically wasted 5 cost.

Pros

- three-units-in-one,

- strong damage dealer.

Cons

- while her damage is high, her cost is comparable to awakened employees and you would rather bring them even for PVE than her.

Review

When Awakened Jake was first released, his performance was pretty terrible - not only he died pretty easily, his signature move (the storm surrounding him) had low range and low impact. So nobody was surprised when he was buffed one week later.

His stats and skills were changed to make him the prime enemy of Mechs and now he's great at making their life miserable. Not only he can tank them really really well, but also he can deal quite a lot of damage and CC them to death.

His anti-mech kit, makes him shine in stages and modes, where there's a lot of Mechs, like Dive 50, Relic Dungeons, Challenge Mode, and Shadow Palace 5. Still, when he's facing enemies that aren't Mechs, his performance drops - he's by no means weak, just that there are better options.

As for PVP, after the recent second round of buffs (yeah, second) he can now hit Air units with his skills and aura, and he can keep the storm field up constantly and also perma stun mechs. This allows him to be the best counter to both Evolved One and Awakened Horizon.

Pros

- top tier anti-mech employee,

- pretty tanky and can take a beating with all the shields he can grant himself,

- has a lot of CC (but only against Mechs).

Cons

- requires great gear and team build to support him.

Review

Well, Jaina Cropel kinda sucks.

She's the first employee who uses the new Fury resource. What does it mean? While other employees have a cooldown on their skills, Fury users use their basic attacks to add 'points' to their skills and when the required number is reached, they use their skills. This means they don't need Skill Haste at all and instead, they scale off Attack Speed.

And the reason why Jaina is really really underwhelming is that her Basic Attack animation is one of the slowest in the game, and even if you stack tons of ASPD on her, she attacks way too slow to do any damage. On top of that, she's super squishy - her stats are abysmal and they gave her two 'cheat death' mechanics, but even then it's easy to proc them and kill her.

Pros

- uhm, design,

- survivability passive

Cons

- super slow basic attack animation,

- low range,

- low health and defensive stats.

While Charlotte stats are pretty good, don't think about her as a main tank material. Her real power lies in the buffs and heals she grants her allies and the ability to knockback enemies.

In PVP, she's pretty great in rush comps, mainly because of the SPEED buff on her special, which allows her and the allies to reach the enemy ship faster. Also, her flag can't be destroyed once she places is down and it constantly buffs the allies nearby.

In PVE, she has her uses, mainly in Danger Close during some weeks, but PVP is where she shines. Mainly because all her buffs are purely defensive, so she can't really compete with Sky and other offensive buffers in the game.

Pros

- great buffs,

- pretty tanky for a 3 cost Defender,

- can heal as a defender.

Cons

- not that good in PVE.

Gremory is a very unique employee that instead of a Special skill, has two passives as a Counter type. She is a paratrooper which means, she can be deployed further down the field where her two passives can be activated at the same time. Honestly, she seemed like a meme unit but is quite overtuned in pvp

Her on deploy effect creates a potion that deals damage over time and continuously reapplies sleep even after they take damage - effectively making this a stun that allows her to freely attack the backline. Due to it being a pretty much instant interrupt, she can be easily deployed to cancel special skills and even ultimates

Oh and, she will pretty much tank for perfect evasion duration if not stripped of her buff, as enemies are not only unable attack her, but also has attack debuff and will miss their attacks.

Pros

- can be deployed anywhere,

- she's like a throwable Lily that can sleep the backline on demand,

- Perfect Evasion means she won't die instantly and can activate her passives.

Cons

- countered by sleep immunity and buff removal.

Nicole has pretty great self buffs, but is a niche unit that's like a love child of Han Sorim and Rivet. She counters non-awakened defenders by permanently slowing, sealing, and knocking them back and also dealing increased damage against them. Against alot of frontlines, she will always use her enhanced attack and knocking them through immunities.

Her special can deal fixed damage to C.O./Replacers which could be useful against PVE enemies with large HP

As for PVP she doesn't quite deal enough damage to be viable - There are better 3 cost damage dealers as non-awakened defenders are not dominant enough to warrant her use. Still, if the meta changes, she should find her place there with ease.

Pros

- deals Fixed Damage that scales of enemy max HP,

- great ASPD and ATK selfbuffs,

- pretty tanky for a 3 cost Ranger,

- can permanently seal, slow non-awakened tanks

Cons

- not that good in the current PVP meta,

- her HP% Fixed Damage passive doesn't work on bosses, so she's average there at best.

Raphaela is an employee really similar to Janus, because she's two in one - when you deploy her, she's a Tower that has 4% MDL (Maximum Damage Limit, which makes her really hard to kill - normally, the stat is only available on Defenders) and pretty high base stats for 3 cost unit, but when her HP drops she transforms into a Striker that chases enemies.

When she was first released, the MDL value was 2%, and this made her basically unkillable when she was in Tower mode, and just her addition to the game increased the average length of PVP matches by 10% and was nerfed two weeks later.

Honestly, she is still pretty broken after the changes. She has pseudo-forward deploy (spawns slightly further than where you place her, like A.Mina), allowing her to easily attack the backline with her absurd hitstun and damage. When she transform into striker mode, she is pretty much unkillable with her MDL and her ultimate is a massive nuke that is 50% charged upon transforming.

As for PVE, she has some uses, but require manual play or else she just sits at the back for 15 seconds.

Pros

- 4% MDL, the highest in the game,

- great stats for a 3 cost employee,

- can stall enemy rush teams pretty well.

Cons

- pretty useless in PVE.

Awakened Shin Jia, the tinkerbell, is a pretty great employee that specializes in buffing allies' damage output and making them harder to kill. While her special/passive locks the furthest target in sight, her sight range is actually pretty low and will most likely target frontlines. Still, this effectively disables them for 10 seconds as they are stunned for the first 5 seconds before getting sealed. Despite that, she's still a pretty great pick in the Gauntlet. Her main usage in PvE is the massive ATK% buff that and the 10% shields she generates - up to 3 times per special skill, allowing the team to survive much longer. Her ultimate is a burst heal that also duplicates the current special skill's buff onto everyone in field. This makes her top tier anywhere where you're racing against the time: Raids, Danger Close, even Event stages. However, she does require some practice to use if you want to make the most out of her since her special has limited range - most of the time not reaching the long range snipers, and her ultimate will give the lowest buff is casted at the wrong timing.

Pros

- top tier buffer,

- can attack the backline and Seal their skills,

- good base stats for a Supporter.

Cons

- gear hungry, as you need to bring her Cooldowns as low as possible to make her shine.

The Mech that broke the PVP and changed the meta to anti-siege in merely a few hours after the release. Why? Not only it had around 180k HP when geared, which combined with high DEF made really hard to kill. But the biggest issue was the basic attack - it dealt a whooping 30% of the target's remaining HP over 1 second after hitting someone and for whatever reason the damage bypasses MDL. There are videos floating around with Evolved One simply dying in a few seconds after Goliath started pounding on her.

Still, the developers reacted quickly and, the same day released a statement that they were looking into the issue. One week later Goliath was nerfed and looks like it may have been too harsh. Not only were its stats lowered drastically, but also the bonus damage to ships was removed. This basically made him a worse Rhino in PVP.

As for PVE, Goliath still needs testing, but a 5 cost super slow unit won't really make an impact there. Still, some players are using it in Replacer King Danger Close stage that was released together with Goliath.

Pros

- uhm, hard to find those after the nerf,

- has some niche uses against Replacer King boss in Danger Close.

Cons

- basically useless in PVE, besides the latest boss added to Danger Close,

- and also useless in PVP after the nerf.

Best Streamer Miya is basically Miya on steroids. She's one of the first Rearms that doesn't drastically change compared to the base version, and some players like it, while others hate it.

Her ultimate has been improved significantly with shorter time to fire the shots, and she gains ATK,ASPD self-buffs during it. Still, she inherited all the downsides of her normal version - she's still squishy, and Kang loves to drive her car into her, her ult also can be easily interrupted by Lily or other backline attackers. This makes Miya hard to use as you need to build the team around her and deploy her at the right moment, so she can destroy the enemy ship.

Keep in mind, she has lost 1 valid hit on her ultimate and now a single awakened defender can absorb the valid hits.

Pros

- huge damage on the ultimate,

- can knockback enemies that try to rush her.

Cons

Dorothy is a damage dealer and supporter hybrid that can win 1vs1 battles against any other Sniper in the game. She's similar to Choi Jihoon because you mostly use her for her supportive abilities, and doing some damage on top of that is a nice bonus.

Interestingly, her ASPD buff stacks with Shin Jia, so your team's DPS will skyrocket if you pair them together. And she also gives CRIT DMG, which makes Dorothy shine in Raids and any boss stages. Still, the uptime of the buff is a big rng based since she needs to crit 5 times to reapply it.

As for PVP, due to her low cost, she can be used to trigger Operator skills while still providing support and some damage to the team. While she's a Soldier, she can be used in both Soldier and Counter teams.

Pros

- great buffs that help the whole team,

- good damage and CC abilities for a 3 cost employee,

- immunity frames on her skills allow her to survive longer.

Cons

- she's squishy, and if she gets hit when her immunity frames are not up, she's easily killed,

Review

The latest 4-cost Defender Morse is a great addition to the roster that tries to do something different from the other same-cost Defenders. While Horizon focuses on pushing enemies back to their ship and Overflow is more of a utility tank with his CC and Crit Res, Morse focuses on being a hard wall to overcome and gets stronger as the battle lasts longer.

Her max HP and DEF increase whenever an ally dies, turning her into a tanking monster. But be aware that the passive won't work if you remove allies from the field by yourself since they need to die to proc the passive. Also, while her max HP raises, her current HP isn't touched, so she will quickly die without a healer behind her back (do remember that healing in this game scales off the target's max HP). While she can regen her health by herself, she can only do that from time to time, so you can't rely on it.

Morse can be used in either Counter teams, but Soldier teams work better for her due to them dying often will quickly stack her passive to the max.

Similar to Seraphel, she has 0 EVA, so you need to give her tank pieces that can increase her EVA, or else she will take all attacks in her face.

Pros

- can tank pretty well,

- passive 20% DMG Res helps a lot,

- if her passive is stacked to the max, it's super hard to kill her.

Cons

- needs a team built around her to allow her to use her passive well.

Rearmed Kang broke the PVP meta on release - her on deploy damage was so strong, that you only needed her and Rearm Elizabeth to instantly kill any SSR ship in the game. The Gauntlet turned into a siege meta and those who had more luck on crits usually won the battle.

Still, the developers reacted fast and nerfed Kang by removing the True Damage on her deployment and turning her into a Fury user. Now she's an upgraded version of the base Kang that excels at killing Snipers - not only her damage is still strong, but she also gained Seal Skill and Debuffs.

Pros

Maestro Nequitia is the first employee with 7 cost, but sadly that doesn't mean she's overpowered. On the contrary, she's a pretty niche awakened employee that on launch was considered the worst awakened in the game - yes, even Lee Jisoo was ranked higher. Still, she was quickly buffed, but even that wasn't enough to make her meta and you need to build a team around her with both Shena and Carmen to actually be able to use her.

From the mechanic's point of view, her Requiem for the Dead only affects employees on the field when it procs, and they start getting stacks from 1. There's one problem though - when they die or when they're redeployed, they lose all the stacks, so it's easy to ignore the debuff and HP burn, and without it, she's not doing anything. There are also two really strong counters to her: Awakened Na Yubin kills her well before she can do anything and Serina Operator can remove her immortality and at the same time, clear all her stacks.

Employees with Debuff immunity also can resist her debuffs, for example, Replacer King.

As for PVE, due to how the Requiem for the Dead work and that enemies appear in waves, she has to stack her debuff basically from 0 all the time, and before it goes to 10 stacks, the enemy will likely be already dead.

Pros

- has tons of debuffs that make enemies' lives pretty miserable.

- despite the buffs, she's still squishy and has a hard time casting her ultimate.

Revenant is a Soldier support that they desperately needed, but her issue is that she's not buffing every Soldier, but only those that consist of multiple units in one - for example Admin Rifleman. Also, keep in mind that Soldiers summoned by other units are considered as Summons in the game and thus Revenant can't buff them.

Still, the buffs she provides are massive - a barrier, Sure Fire to counter the pesky Perfect Evasion employees, and hit-stun immunity. What's unique about Revenant is that her barrier doesn't have any duration and it needs to be destroyed to be removed. As for the debuff tied to her grenade ability, while it scales off the number of multi-units deployed on the battlefield, all ally Soldier units gain the reduced damage taken effect.

Revenant made PVE Soldier teams finally viable and with her, they can much easier clear Story, Dives, and various events - Dorothy and Millia being two of the staples of that team. Still, in both Dive 50 and Relics, Soldiers are still bad and it tanks her rating due to not being good enough for endgame content.

As for PVP, sadly she's not enough to make Soldiers meta in higher elo, but you can use them with great success in the lower tiers - Soldier Rush teams works very well there.

Pros

- if you want to use Soldier teams, she's a must-have.

Cons

Finally, after nearly two years, another pure healer was released and she's great! Comparing pure healing numbers, Carmen is only inferior to Evelyn, but she trades it for way more utility with the debuff removal and prevention on her special. She's also more of a frontline/tank healer than a team healer because her special skill heals has a small range and it's fired on the closest enemy.

In PVP, this makes her borderline overpowered and there she's competing with Evelyn for the best healer spot. Still, she's super slow and if you deploy her too far from the team, she won't reach them in time. Also, Evelyn is an Air unit, so she's safer in the sky.

Also worth noting that when Carmen is combined with Maestro Nequitia, her special skill shoots two musical notes, instead of one, and the amount of burst healing that comes from it might be nerfed because she can keep the frontline alive by herself.

Pros

Cons

While her base version is one of the most unique Snipers in the game that has a great CC ability and also acts as a supporter to Mechs, her rearm exchanged all of that for the ability to kill enemy Towers. Still, while on paper she looks like she could counter the strongest Tower in the game right now, Nestkeeper Xiao, in reality, she dies to her before doing anything. On top of that, her cost was increased and it's really hard to justify using her in the current state.

Awakened Maria is the first awakened Ranger that was added after quite some time - recently Strikers dominated the class for new awakened employees. She's also very similar to Ministra in that regard that she exchanges pure damage for more utility. While her base stats are pretty high and her crit is nearly capped, her skill's coefficient is pretty average which results in, you guessed it, average damage, unless you allow her passive CRIT DMG she gains when allies use her portals to stack, but that's really hard to do in PVP.

Let's talk about her utility now and she can do things that no other employee released till now can. After she's spawned, she creates a portal that teleports allies nearly half (or more than half in the Gauntlet) battlefield forward, allowing them to directly rush the ship by skipping the frontline. Her Special skill is also pretty strong as it not only stuns Strikers and Defenders but also in the Gauntlet it teleports one of the targets that was stunned back to its ship. As for her Ultimate, while it looks great, the damage just isn't there.

Still, the portals have quite a few flaws. First of all, other Awakened employees and Towers can't use it. Furthermore, in PVE where most of the players use Auto-Battle, your squishy backliners will suddenly get teleported to the enemy frontline where they will be slaughtered. Sure, you can play her on manual, but this will get annoying really fast.

As for PVP, Awakened Maria created a new type of rush team that bypasses the enemy frontline and goes straight for the ship, but this team, while being pretty strong, is countered by some other meta teams.

Pros

- can teleport allies forward,

- her stun is really annoying.

Cons
