Counter Side Global coming soon!

Published Friday, 25 March 2022

Woah, this came out as a surprise, but it seems the Global server for Counter Side is closer than we thought!

Early morning today I've been bombarded by news about a possible upcoming Global server for Counter Side. While initially, we thought it was an elaborate hoax, it seems that the website, discord, or tons of social media profiles that appeared a few days ago are actually real. Here's the link:

Official Global Website

We don't have any official dates yet as the blog post mentions that CBT is coming soon. Here's the content of the only news available on the site:

Hello everyone!

Can we clap it out for Counterside's long-awaited global launch? 👏👏👏👏

This is manager Kim Hana. I'm really happy to finally meet you all!

How about joining forces in our upcoming CBT?

It is coming soon and we hope you are looking forward to it~!

Can't wait to see you there!

Please make sure to follow our official pages for further announcements!

Also, what's interesting is that only Studiobside is mentioned on the website as if they were the ones running the Global version and not Nexon. For those who don't know, Studiobside are the developers of the game.

Still, since this came out of nowhere, the Prydwen Institute isn't currently ready to support another region. The website will require quite a heavy back-end remodel to support different ratings depending on the region.

Currently, there's only one rating that's being split between SEA and KR regions depending if the employee is released for us. While this was enough for two regions, it won't work at all when Global will be added into the mix.

Hell, I even don't have a global filter for the blog yet. So yeah, the first step is to evaluate the number of changes required for the website, and the process of implementing them, but I will go further into detail at a later date in a separate blog post.

If there's anything you would like to see to be implemented or modified for the Global version, please let me know in the comments.
